Injury Prevention For Throwing Athletes
Throwing athletes and baseball players, are you ready for your season? In this episode of Krush Performance, we address one of the most challenging and possibly dangerous movements in all of sport: throwing a baseball.
The majority of early season throwing injuries can be prevented by simply giving yourself time to get ready for your season. We’ll talk about progressive throwing programs.
Also, I’ll finish off the conversation from last week’s MLB Kickoff show by going over players to watch and why. And I’ll boldly make my World Series Champion prediction.
Finally, why are so many great players coming from the North? I talk with Andre Lachance, the Director of Sport Development for Baseball Canada, about long term development and how sport science is driving the Canadian sport model.

The 2019 Krush MLB Opening Day Special
This week on Krush Performance, I break down the numbers from the 2018 season that describe the incredible changes the game of baseball is experiencing: strikeouts, hits, home runs, stolen bases, defensive shifts, and more. Alarming numbers that every sport should be watching.
Never have we seen a professional sport change so drastically, in such a short time as the game of baseball.
We’ll break down the new rule changes and look at some of the proposed changes being considered with All-Time Krush Favorite, Allan Mitchell, aka “Lowetide.” Al is one of our favorite sports personalities and if I ever had the chance I would host a weekly baseball show with Al and create a segment called, “Baseball Story Time With Al.”
We’ll also lay out our teams to watch, stories and players to watch and make our 2019 predictions for which team will claim World Series Supremacy.
Baseball is Back and we are fired up! Play ball!

Getting Better – Strategies for Overcoming Adversity & Improving Performance
Not much would happen if we all stayed in our comfort zone. In fact, I’d say it is almost impossible to get better at something if we don’t step outside of our comfort zones and face the challenges of improving performance.
Getting better takes planning, support, patience and effort and it can be challenging.
In this episode of Krush Performance, I talk with Krush Favorite: Jamie Sale, Olympic Gold Medalist, now business owner, coach and parent, about the challenges she faced during her career as one of the top athletes in the World. Becoming one of the best was not easy, in fact there were times when it was brutally difficult and after her retirement from competition the challenges did not stop. Jamie shares some sage advice on dealing and overcoming adversity and for anyone looking to get better and improve their performance.
I also talk coaching, specialization and how you can put it all together to help you better deal with the challenges of improving your performance…no matter what it is you wish to do.

Corruption, Murder, Money, & Sport
These are not the words when I think of sport but unfortunately there is a dark side of sport that is prospering, growing and threatening the very integrity of sport.
In mid January, African investigative reporter Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot dead in what reports called “an assignation style killing”. Suale spent a good part of his career investigating and exposing corruption, match fixing in African sport. So where are we at when it comes to protecting the integrity of sport?
Today, we talk with journalist, academic, consultant, and author, Declan Hill. He is respected globally for his work investigating match fixing and corruption in sport. We talk with him about the repercussions of Hussein-Suale’s murder it is such a great loss and the ripple effects will travel deep into the media industry.
Also, is it time for NCAA athletes to get paid? I talk with Declan about the issues here and why aren’t athletes getting paid?
Get set for a candid, informative, alarming and educational conversation with Krush Performance, favorite, Declan Hill.

Pushing Human Performance – Training The Mind
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, the two areas that hold the greatest potential for pushing human performance forward are technology and the mind.
First, Technology continues to advance at an incredible pace. The advances in equipment, facilities, clothing are one side of the story but technology that is now allowing us to better monitor, analyze and understand our athletes is where the true potential lies. And more specifically the technology that is allowing us to map track and train the human mind – in real time – is what really excites me.
Second, the Mind. Our understanding of the mind and the mental game of sport and human performance is where the next level of human performance lie.
Today, I talk with Krush favorite, John Stevenson, registered psychologist and mental performance consultant from Zone Performance.
The mental game impacts every aspect of your life and today we lay out the fundamentals and discuss some of the great new advances that are allowing us to train the mental side of performance like NEVER before.

A Krush Breakdown Of The Super Bowl & What Exactly Is Player Development?
This week, I look back on the Super Bowl and the NFL season to see what we can learn and take away from the sports great players, leaders, and franchises. I also look back to the start of the NFL season to revisit the Krush teams to watch from the start of the season (two of them were battling it out for the NFL Championship).
Why are the Patriots are so damn good?!
Love them or hate them you have to RESPECT them!! There is plenty to learn from this organization.
And I ask an important question:
“Are we destroying more talent than we are creating?”
Looking at developmental sport, there are growing concerns revolving around, drop-out rates, injuries and burnout. Do you agree with him? Let me know your thoughts.
